The RBA will finally cut rates this week (or face a severe backlash)

Everyone expects the RBA board to cut interest rates on Tuesday following July's 'on hold' shocker. The only question is whether decision will be unanimous.

The Reserve Bank of Australia shocked the markets, economists, the public and, by all accounts, politicians last month by keeping rates on hold amid overwhelming predictions of a 25 basis point cut or more.

Economists are now even more assured a cut is in the bag at its next meeting this Tuesday (even some of the few who accurately predicted last month's surprise are expecting a cut this time)
