AI security startup Dam Secure closes $6.1m seed round
The news: AI security startup Dam Secure has raised $6.1 million in a seed funding round led by Washington-based investor Paladin Capital Group.
The context: The Sydney-founded company is developing an AI-native platform which helps organisations manage growing security risks created by the adoption of AI coding tools.
The platform is built around an engine that enables organisations to express security requirements in plain English and automatically enforce those rules across large code bases during the software development process.
Co-founders Patrick Collins and Simon Harloff are former executives at ASX-listed Zip Co and Sydney-based software group Secure Code Warrior.
The seed round attracted funding from local technology executives including Secure Code Warrior CEO Pieter Danhieux, RecordPoint CEO Anthony Woodward, Innovation Bay founder Phaedon Stough and Tyro Payments chief product officer Steen Andersson.
Dam Secure said it will use the new capital to accelerate product development and expand go-to-market efforts throughout 2026.
What they said: “The current approach to application security is struggling to keep pace with generative AI,” said Paladin Capital managing director Mourad Yesayan, who will join Dam Secure’s board following the raise.
“Developers are becoming increasingly reliant on AI-generated code, and Dam Secure is focused on putting guardrails around that workflow.”
