Airtree partner Helen Norton departs after 11 years
The news: Helen Norton, the finance and operations partner at Airtree Ventures, has announced her departure from the venture capital firm after 11 years.
The numbers: Norton joined founders Daniel Petre, Craig Blair and Jessica Heffernan when Airtree was just starting out, and was part of the team that grew the firm from its first fund to more than $2 billion in assets under management across five vintages.
The context: Norton was responsible for building Airtree’s financial infrastructure, governance frameworks, systems, investor relations, team and culture.
Before joining Airtree in 2015, Norton spent eight years working in London at Accel Partners. She has indicated she will take time off with family before deciding on her next move, though she remains active in the venture capital and technology community.
What they said: “None of it felt like work, because I genuinely loved what we were building and who I was building it with,” Norton said.
