EV charging startup Kwetta closes $15.8m round led by Blackbird
The news: New Zealand-based EV charging and power grids startup Kwetta has closed NZD17.5 million ($15.8 million) in a Series A funding round led by Blackbird Ventures.
The context: Kwetta said the funding, which is supported by Clean Energy Innovation Fund’s Virescent Ventures and New Zealand venture capital fund Icehouse Ventures, will help the company expand in Europe and Australia.
Formerly named Red Phase, Kwetta focuses on creating technology that enables large-scale electrification for heavy transport, fleets and large-scale charging hubs, including through its flagship high-voltage product, Prime Grid Gateway.
