LaunchVic announces 30x30 cohort

The news: LaunchVic, Victoria's startup agency, has announced the fourth cohort of its 30X30 program, selecting eleven high-growth scaleups with "potential to reach unicorn status by 2030". The fully subsidised program connects participants with mentors from established unicorn companies including Atlassian, Canva and Seek.

The numbers: Since launching in February 2022, the 30X30 program has supported 28 scaleups across three cohorts, which have collectively raised more than $952.7 million in funding. The latest cohort includes eleven companies spanning industries including construction, healthcare, gaming, cyber security and hospitality.

The context: The 30X30 program focuses on helping Victorian scaleups achieve a $1 billion-plus valuation by 2030 through a four-month program targeting HR, operations and finance challenges. For the latest cohort, LaunchVic reported that most referrals came from investors supporting their portfolio companies, indicating strong sector confidence in the program.

The fourth cohort comprises Affinda (AI document processing), Ausmed (healthcare workforce platform), BuildPass (construction site operating system), Buildxact (construction management software), EngageRM (sports and entertainment platform), Fresho (fresh food wholesale platform), IMRA (surgical education solutions), Mod.io (user generated content platform), Redactive (enterprise data security), Typsy (hospitality skills platform) and Zitcha (retail media platform).

What they said: "This is a really exciting list of scaleups with strong unicorn potential, featuring a diverse range of industries like construction, healthcare, gaming, cyber security and hospitality," said LaunchVic CEO, Kate Cornick.

"Victoria has a thriving startup sector and we're helping these local entrepreneurs reach their full potential — creating highly skilled jobs and driving economic growth across the state," said state Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs Danny Pearson.
