Medow Health AI raises $2 million to automate medical reports
The news: Australian startup Medow Health AI has completed a $2 million capital raise as it partners with health technology group Magentus to integrate its AI 'co-pilot' systems into medical practice management software.
The numbers: More than 50% of the $2 million capital raise came from specialist doctors.
Medow Health said it had experienced 50% month-on-month growth since September 2023.
The company plans to expand operations in 2025, including entry into the New Zealand market.
The context: Medow develops artificial intelligence systems that automate medical reports for specialist doctors. The technology integrates with Magentus' Genis and Gentu practice management systems, which are widely used across Australian medical practices.
Notable medical professionals investing in the company include Chris O'Brien Lifehouse chief executive officer and oncologist Professor Michael Boyer and orthopaedic surgeon Michael Solomon.
The company was founded by Joel Freiberg, who was later joined by his brother Josh and former chief technology officer Andrew as co-founders, bringing 30 years of combined technology and software experience.
What they said: "We didn't have to look far for investors with our early medical specialists customers already using the technology wanting to be involved in the capital raise," Joel Freiberg said.
