NRFC injects $32m into Harrison.ai
The news: The National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC) has announced a $32 million investment in artificial intelligence startup Harrison.ai.
The context: The injection is part of its Series C funding round and will be used to develop the company’s radiology and pathology diagnostic capabilities, which help detect and diagnose medical conditions.
The investment will also keep Harrison.ai’s operations in Australia while the startup eyes US expansion.
Harrison.ai uses artificial intelligence to read X-rays and brain CT scans.
What they said: NRFC chief investment officer Mary Manning said: “This is the first investment in the NRFC’s medical science priority area. Harrison.ai is a fantastic example of the positive outcomes that our investments in this priority area can have, growing and expanding a world-leading Australian business that is providing life-saving care to patients around the world”.
Harrison.ai co-founder and chief executive Aengus Tran said: “This investment empowers Harrison.ai to further our commitment to improving patient outcomes and accelerate adoption of our market-leading solutions in Australia and internationally”.
