Blinq CEO Jarrod Webb on going viral and the future of business cards
The digital business card startup raised US$25 million in Australia’s largest Series A of 2025 to expand globally and rethink how professionals connect.
This month, Melbourne-based Blinq, which provides digital business cards powered by QR codes, secured USD25 million (A$40 million) in Series A funding. The round was led by Touring Capital, with participation from existing investors Blackbird Ventures, Square Peg Capital and HubSpot Ventures.
Blinq’s cards are scanned using a smartphone camera, automating the exchange of contact details so professionals can focus on building relationships. While competitors have pursued alternative methods for sharing information, the company says its QR-based approach offers greater reliability and flexibility.
With more than 2.5 million users across 500,000 companies in 189 countries, Blinq plans to use the capital to expand its enterprise offering, grow geographically and continue product development.
Capital Brief spoke with CEO Jarrod Webb about the viral appeal of the product, Blinq’s expansion plans and how digital business cards represent a fundamental shift in professional identity.
