AI startup Ajust secures $2m for its consumer complaint platform
The news: Australian startup Ajust has secured $2 million in seed funding led by Carthona Capital to expand its AI-powered consumer advocacy platform.
The numbers: The latest funding round brings Ajust's total capital raising to $2.7 million. The platform has facilitated more than 20,000 interactions with over 750 Australian businesses, achieving an 80% resolution rate.
The most active sectors using Ajust are telecommunications (20%), retail (20%), and banking (15%), followed by energy (7%) and aviation (5%).
The context: The company, founded by former LegalVision executive Tom Kaldor in 2022, provides a service that helps consumers resolve issues with businesses through automated communications.
Kaldor previously served as an associate to High Court justice Kiefel and head of product at LegalVision. The platform uses artificial intelligence to assist consumers with various issues, from securing refunds for faulty products to managing subscriptions.
The company provides end-to-end support and optimises its software by using specific data about consumer issues and business resolution processes.
What they said: "A lot of customer service platforms optimise for efficiency and deflection — making customers go away as quickly and cheaply as possible. Ajust flips this paradigm on its head with AI that's focused on getting the best outcome for consumers, while minimising time wasted by everyone," Carthona Capital partner Damian Fox said.
