Fat Zebra buys SecurePay from Australia Post
The news: Australian digital payments company Fat Zebra has acquired SecurePay from Australia Post, marking its third acquisition in 14 months. The deal follows Fat Zebra's purchases of customer data platform Adatree in February 2024 and payments provider Pin Payments in December 2024.
The numbers: Fat Zebra cprocesses over 250 million transactions annually across more than 38,000 merchants and platforms. SecurePay services over 35,000 businesses and has been part of Australia Post since 2010.
The context: SecurePay, one of Australia's earliest online payment providers, will be integrated into Fat Zebra's modern payment infrastructure. The acquisition aligns with Fat Zebra's strategy to become the leading payments partner for Australian businesses across all segments, from startups to major digital brands. Fat Zebra's existing client portfolio includes Sportsbet, RACQ, PayPal, Zip, Aussie Broadband and Revolution Sport.
What they said: "This is more than an acquisition — it's a strategic move in Australian payments. SecurePay's long-standing merchant relationships are a valuable part of the ecosystem, and by combining them with Fat Zebra's modern infrastructure, we're delivering a more powerful platform for Australian businesses," said Pred Dragila, founder and chief executive officer of Fat Zebra.
