Itβs a wrap. And another wrap. And another one. Turns out the startup ecosystem loves a wrap. I planned on doing a wrap of all wraps, but it was a never-ending rabbit hole that I could not do justice to. Besides, we can all just open LinkedIn and there they are.
One stat that did come to my attention though was in the wrap just published by Blackbird: while 40% of the investments it made were in enterprise, this was closely followed by 36% in deep tech.

According to Blackbird, it put $67.6 million this year into deep tech companies (including Fleet, Nomad and Aquila), which was consistent with percentages deployed in 2021 and 2022.
Globally, deep tech investment is on the rise. A recent report from Boston Consulting Group shows that deep tech investment makes up a 20% share of venture capital funding, up from about 10% a decade ago.
